Coachella ’18

It was my first time going to Coachella this year and I wanted to share my experience with you. I went with my BFF since middle school and friends from Denver, LA and Toronto. The festival was so fun and exhausting at the same time. It was quite overwhelming as the grounds is pretty spread out and massive. The event went on for 3 days and I feel like we only saw 60% of what was showcased. There is a lot of walking involved, standing on your feet, dancing and pretty much no sleep. At the end, you feel completely drained. Most of our group got sick afterwards including myself. 😭

We rented a sick Airbnb in Palm Springs and took the shuttle to and from the festival every day. I’d recommend staying in Indio if you can to be closer to the event. By the end of the night, all you want to do is get home and the shuttle journey can be quite lengthy. Saturday night, our driver took us to the wrong city and hotel so we didn’t get home until pass 4am! 😳

My biggest Coachella tip is to stay hydrated, wear comfortable shoes (sneakers or flat booties), bring a bandana as it gets really dusty at night walking to the shuttle/uber/car, a light jacket for nighttime and of course hand sanitizer/wipes.

My fav sets were Beyoncé (she murdered it), Illenium, Odesza, and Post Malone. There were so many artists to see and the stages are not close to each other. We were rolling pretty deep so it was a little hard to rally everyone and ensure no one got left behind. There is limited cell service hence on Saturday we brought balloons from a birthday celebration we did to increase the chances of finding our squad. We got to the festival each day around 5pm and stayed until it ended.

It’s all about the people you are with that makes the best memories. It felt so liberating to be free of any worry/stress and just be present in the moment. I have always thought of music to be an escape of creative expression, freedom, enjoyment and unity. The weekend was pure bliss.

Below are my Chella looks along with a few memories to capture the entire weekend. We also attended Illenium’s pool party Sunday before heading to the festival. I wore two different outfits at the festival as it’s so hot during the day and breezy at night. The one day I didn’t bring a change of outfit (day 3), it was windy and cold. You can see more on my Instagram. What do you think of each look?
