Seeking the City

I’ve had a deep love affair with NYC for as long as I can remember. I wanted to attend NYU for college but my parents wouldn’t let me leave the state. So for years, I kept running back to the city where dreams are made of. A city full of life, energy, people and feels. Something about Manhattan always rejuvenated me and breathe life into my soul again. The feeling of being re-inspired and refreshed was invigorating and addicting. It was perfect when He lived in New York and I was there regularly. The art of longing and belonging in a place where I felt most comfortable in felt like home or did he feel like home? It was bittersweet to return to the city I loved so much and not seeing the one I loved so dearly. As one of my good friends told me before my homecoming, “Trust the process.” So… New York is always a good idea.

Roaming through Midtown in this floral number and catching an Uber in my high slit was a Carrie Bradshaw moment. It’s hot, humid but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Have you been to NYC? What are your favorite things to do and where are your favorite restaurants? Working and living in the Big Apple part time I still never got a chance to do everything I wanted to do.
